in depth review of Sony's PS Vita 4

size of a DS…that's still a bit hard to fit in the pants. I love my PSP3000 but I don't take it with me a lot due to size.

Shadow of the Colossus PS3

It seems ages since I’ve updated the Gaming section. I received the Ico & Shadow of the Colossus PS3 collection as gift for Christmas and recently had a little time to play. I had the PS2 version and for the life of me I ended up stuck and moved on until I got the collection.

The beauty of this game is that it’s straight boss fights. No minions to fight. Just you, the hero named Wander, against 16 individual bosses to resurrect Mono.

For a more descriptive storyline version of the game can be found on Wikipedia’s page here.

This game works well for small sessions; I can tackle one boss without worrying about a log file on what had previously transpired in terms of story. The boss themselves act as the level with platforms which Wanderer needs to traverse in order to attack the colossus’s weak spots in order to defeat it.

Wanderer, his horse Agro, and one of the Colossus. Wanderer is that white speck near the middle bottom

There are countless reviews on this game but this is such a fun game. Finally beat it after week and a very satisfying ending. However with the vague story allowed the gamers weave their own conclusions for Wander and Mono’s story before and possibly after the game. This was what the developer intended; so well it have spawn plot theories which some can be found on the link below.

Shot to the heart and you’re to blame…. (bad Bon Jovi pun)

Happy Friday Everyone! We’re back for another Friday posting. I’ve started on Square Enix’s The 3rd Birthday for the PSP. Which is another installment to the Parasite Eve series.

For those who have not heard of the Parasite Eve series, you can check out Wikipedia’s entries:

It has been a few years since the original series and this definitely brings some nostalgia. P.E. has always been a good balance for me in terms that it’s still a horror but I’m given the complete fright/scare in the environment as the Resident Evil series (yeah yeah, I love the series but personally not my cup of tea).

The general game play still follows the past with lock to aim, fire, change weapons, and PE abillities. Square also added a few new moves given the story has an almost Back to the Future theme going. Off I go back to the game. =)
