Picked up ax and event tickets but given people are already lining up for tomorrow's autograph tickets. I have to abandon that hope for any autographs since I want to dedicate more time taking photos and wandering around.

Where's that line for autographs? They designated a waiting area on Pico for autographs. No one is there.
There was a small group… info booth stated another group will be there around 3am

I think for East Coast peeps, you might want to check out Otakon Baltimore. NYC does have an anime convention coming up (Liberty City Anime Con).
I got into the line for Kawamori today at 6-6:30 AM. I got the first standby ticket (all priority ones were gone when I got to head of line). So I'll see what happens.
