(Re:ゼロから始める異世界生活 / Re: Life in a Different World from Zero)
I've been watching the remakes/sequels this season. Mainly Jojo, Ushio and Tora, Macross Delta. Those listed have been playing in the background for the most part since it doesn't need my undivided attention. Nevertheless they are certainly fun series to watch/listen to.
But spring season is following a trend of "summoned into a fantasy world" type. This time instead of Hai to Gensou no Grimgar, it has brought Re:Zero (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Re:Zero)
While time loops are nothing new but the progress of looping back much like the US Movie Edge of Tomorrow, based on "All You Need Is Kill" by Hiroshi Sakurazaka, is certain a fun take amid the swath of series vying for our attention. Also the time loops varies in events is a refreshing take on the world and involving new characters.
While the first loop arc is a bit cliché, getting past it onto the second arc of the time loop is certainly interesting. Over many time loops we see the protagonist learn new skills like cooking. As the story gives more in-depth background story of the protagonist's powers, his internal struggles with "surivior's guilt", and how he deals with problems per loop is interesting to watch.
Side note: I'm curious on whether the convenience store foods he bought prior being summoned will make it to the end of the series.
