Watched a bit of Comet Lucifer and all the while watching this, I can't help but be reminded of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.
The Star ornament in one of the heroine's hair reminds me of Yoko. The protagonist with googles, a pet mascot, digging underground (for rare crystals) reminds me of Simone. Also the scenes with the color pastel swatches reminds me of Nia Teppelin.
Since this is done by 8Bit studios from my understanding (someone correct me if I'm wrong). But I'm just reminded a lot of Lagaan.
